Boston College Football: Al Louis Jean Suspended for Villanova Game

Sophomore CB out.

Joe Robbins

Boston College is dealing with their first loss of the season, as Eric Hoffses reports that sophomore cornerback Al Louis Jean has been suspended for the first game against Villanova. Hoffses wasn't specific but also reports that Steve Addazio suspended ALJ due to violation of team rules. It is only a one game suspension, so it appears that Al Louis Jean will be ready to go in week 2 against Wake Forest

Louis Jean, a Brockton Massachusetts native, was one of Frank Spaziani's most prized recruits, although he missed all of last season with a foot injury. He was projected to be one of the starting cornerbacks, alongside sophomore Bryce Jones. Though in the preseason depth chart Al Louis Jean wasn't listed as a starter, instead listed as a backup to Manny Asprilla. C.J. Jones is also listed on the depth chart as well, and could step up to start or receive playing time.

You never like seeing players getting suspended, especially in the first week of the season, but it could be worse. Al Louis Jean is going to be vital against teams such as Clemson and USC who have dynamic receivers. Hopefully his relationship with the coaching staff is still copacetic, and he will be suiting up again soon.
