Boston College Vs. Villanova Kickoff Set For Noon, On ESPN3

One step closer to real, live college football, folks.

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE

On Thursday, the ACC and ESPN released the scheduled kickoff times and TV information for the first three weeks of its 2013 football season. Boston College will kick off its 2013 season against the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday, August 31 at noon at Alumni Stadium. Not surprisingly, the game will be broadcast on the internets only, ESPN3.

This year's season-opener marks the 46th meeting between the Eagles and Wildcats but the first since 1980. Boston College holds a 29-15-1 record in the all-time series, 22-9-1 at home.

In week 2, the Eagles' ACC opener against Wake Forest on Friday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2. #TheRivalry #BCvsWakeBingo

Overall, can't really complain with either of these start times or TV networks. You knew that the BC-Nova opener would be relegated to ESPN3 EXCLUSIVE status while the BC-Wake game would get picked up by either ESPN or ESPN2. With the season opener slated for noon, it'll be interesting to see if Brad Bates can make an impact in the allowable tailgating hours before and after the game. Something to keep an eye on as the new AD continues to roll out new initiatives targeted at improving the game day experience.
