The Boston College Eagles out-rushed the ninth-ranked USC Trojans by 432 yards on Saturday, #SOAR-in to a 37-31 upset victory on Saturday night. Despite throwing for just 54 yards on 5-of-13 passing, Tyler Murphy was electric on the ground -- rushing for a career-high 191 yards on just 13 carries and a touchdown as the Eagles improved to 2-1 on the season.
And thanks to the ACC Digital Network, we can all relive BC's 37-31 win over USC in all its glory.
Check out Sherm Alston's incredible end-around touchdown to put the Eagles up 20-17 right before half, and bask in the warm glow of Brad Nessler's exquisite call:
"Murphy. End around. Coming from Sherman Alstonnn ... the speedy guyyy ... the little guyyyy ... Alstonnnn, touchdown. WHAT A RUN!"
Here's Tyler Murphy running the zone read to perfection. Murphy manages to fake out out both the camera crew and the entire USC defensive front en route to a 66-yard rushing touchdown that iced the victory for BC. The Eagles QB gets about 10 yards downfield before the USC defense finally figures out he has the ball.
The night was capped off with the crowd storming the field.
Of course, we should all remember who the Eagles played for on Saturday night. The parents of BC's fallen hero Welles Crowther (BC '99) were introduced to rousing applause from the Alumni Stadium crowd. Getting dusty in here.
