BREAKING: Syracuse Fires Head Coach Scott Shafer
Well, this is an interesting turn of events. Syracuse has reportedly fired head coach Scott Shafer, but he is still expected to coach the last game of the season against BC. Will Syracuse mail it in for the final game or will they play hard for their outgoing coach? Also, what does this move mean for Syracuse going forward? Their next coaching search should be one to keep an eye on - especially since they're going to be swimming in some shark-infested waters with so many power 5 openings this year. Interesting.
Shafer was entering the final year of his contract in 2016 and is 13-23 in three season as HC of the Orange following four years as their defensive coordinator.
