Murphy threw for 160 yards and a touchdown on 13-of-17 passing, and added 20 yards on 11 carries on the ground, to lead Boston College to a comfortable 28-7 victory over the Syracuse Orange. The Wethersfield, Connecticut native needed just nine games to set the school's career quarterback rushing yardage record and 12 games to break the ACC's single-season quarterback rushing yardage record. Murphy leads the nation for rushing yards by a QB with 1,079.
Murphy joins former Eagle greats Doug Flutie, Troy Stratford, Kelvin Martin, Glenn Foley, Derrick Knight, Mathias Kiwanuka and Andre Williams as Scarminach Memorial Award recipients.
Truly a special talent. Shame that he doesn't have a few more years of eligibility here on the Heights.
