Name: Matt Milano
Position: Linebacker
Number: #28
Year: Sophomore
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 215 lbs.
Hometown: Orlando, FL
High School: Dr. Phillips
2013 Stats: Appeared in all 13 games, recording a total of five tackles throughout the year. One tackle against North Carolina, New Mexico State and Maryland. A season-high two tackles against N.C. State.
2014 Projections: Milano will make the transition from safety to linebacker for BC after being recruited as a safety out of Dr. Phillips in Orlando (let's hope that transition goes as smoothly as it did for another recent HS defensive back-turned-NFL All-Pro linebacker). Milano will compete for starting minutes in the Eagles linebacking corps but I'm not expecting him to start. That's not to say he won't contribute as I expect to see Milano make an impact at both LB and on special teams in 2014.
How'd He Get Here: A three-star recruit out of Florida, Matt choses the Eagles over claimed offers from Air Force, Arizona, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Stony Brook. Recruited by Jeff Commisiong.

Uniform History: The #28 jersey hasn't been all that popular over the years. Watertown guard Richard Gorman was the first to wear the number from 1926-28 and 1930. Safety Charlie Brennan (Bloomfield Hills, MI) wore the number from 1989-92. A pair of Eagles running backs -- Horace Dodd (2002-03) and Rolandan Finch (2009, 11-12) have worn the number in recent years. Oddly enough, another Orlando native, A.J. Brooks, wore the #28 jersey during the 2004, 2006 and 2007 seasons.

What Does Addazio Think Of Him: On replacing two accomplished linebackers:
"Mike Strizak, Sean Duggan, Josh Keyes have all stepped in there. Matt Milano is a kid from Florida that came up and started out as a safety that we've kind of knocked down to that nickel-sam, sam-linebacker kind of guy. We feel great about these guys. They're all different positions. I just rattled off a will, a mike, a sam."
