Taj-Amir Torres Signs with Boston College, Faxes Letter of Intent

Another local star is heading to Boston College.

Local product Taj-Amir Torres has faxed over his letter of intent with the Boston College Eagles. Torres, BC's 21st verbal commitment of the 2015 class, committed to the Eagles in June and one of multiple cornerbacks. In Coach Addazio's commitment to build a fence around New England, Torres is one of many that came from Massachusetts.

A 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback out of Amherst (lulz UMass) Torres runs a 4.4 40-yard dash and comes to BC over claimed offers from UMass and UConn.

Taj-Amir had a monster senior season. According to an article he:

Torres has scored five touchdowns on 558 yards receiving, four TDs on 124 yards rushing and two TDs on special teams for Amherst (2-8). Torres also has three interceptions for the Hurricanes. He is the reigning New England champion in the indoor 55-meter dash and state champion in the outdoor 100-meter dash.

BC has a lot of need at the corner position, and speed like that is always a positive in a cornerback.

Here are Torres' highlights from HUDL:

Torres' rankings from the recruiting services are as follows:

  • Rivals: Two stars
  • Scout: Two stars
  • 247Sports: Three stars, rated an 86 overall, 80th best wide receiver, 11th best Massachusetts
  • ESPN: Three stars, rated a 70 overall, 162nd best athlete, 230th regional, 10th best Massachusetts recruit
