Jordan Gowins Signs with Boston College, Faxes Letter of Intent

A New York running back ready to make an impact with the Eagles!

Jordan Gowins has faxed his intent and he will be joining up with the Eagles. Gowins, BC's 6th verbal commitment of the 2015 class and only running back recruit, comes to the Eagles from New York, joining John Phillips to make up the two commits from that state.

A 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back out of the St. Anthony school in Melville, NY, Gowins comes to BC over claimed offers from Stony Brook and Toledo. He also had interest from Florida State, Penn State, Rutgers, and Maryland.

Boston College brings back all of their running backs from 2014 (Marcus Outlow, Jon Hilliman, Myles Willis and Richard Wilson), so finding more carries will be a challenge for Gowins. He's a powerful runner, not overly fast, which would give the Eagles another back more in line with what you would expect from Hilliman than Myles Willis or Outlow. Given the depth the Eagles have at running back, I expect Gowins to be redshirted in 2015.

Here are Gowin's highlights from HUDL:

Gowins's rankings from the recruiting services are as follows:

  • Rivals: Two stars
  • Scout: Two stars
  • 247Sports: Three stars, rated an 80, 147th ranked running back, 12th best recruit from New York
  • ESPN: Three stars, rated a 73 overall, 154th best running back, 205th regional, 11th best New York recruit

Go Eagles!
