Wyatt Knopfke, a big offensive lineman out of Saint Stephen's Episcopal School in Florida, is a Boston College Eagle! Knopfke, an ESPN 300 player, selects the Eagles over claimed offers from Kentucky and Miami. The 6-foot-2, 265-pounder is listed as a guard, but he might be a candidate to develop as center as well. Addazio put a clear emphasis on restocking talent on the offensive line this recruiting cycle, and Knopfke is one of the most highly regarded of the class.
Must Reads
Knopfke is a big physical guard who has the weight and size to be effective immediately in college football. He shows good use of his hands in his highlight reel. If he continues to add a little more weight, he could be a very effective ACC guard for Boston College, or even the program center of the future.
Of all of the recruits BC is bringing in on the offensive line, Knopfke has the size already to be a college offensive lineman. He isn't coming until the summer, so he is going to need to learn the offense. Like the recruits in the past that BC have brought in during the fall, I'd expect him to be redshirted this season unless an injury forced him onto the field.
