Chase Pankey has signed on the dotted line and is now an Eagle. Pankey, BC's 14th verbal commitment of the 2015 class and first wide receiving commit, continues a healthy Archbishop Moeller Cincinnati recruiting pipeline of Fighting Crusaders-turned-Eagles.
Must Reads
A 6-foot-1, 185 pound wide receiver out of Cincinnati runs a 4.47 40-yard dash and comes to BC over claimed offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo and Marshall. He also had interest from Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Northwestern and Vanderbilt at various times throughout the year.
Wide receiving is definitely an area of need for the Eagles, and with such a run-centric offense making it difficult to attract elite talent at the position, Pankey is a nice addition to this year's class. He's a big target with good hands and decent speed. With plenty of question marks in the receiving corps moving forward, Pankey might just find his way onto the two-deep sooner rather than later.
Here are Pankey's highlights from both YouTube and HUDL:
Pankey's rankings from the recruiting services are as follows:
- Rivals: Three stars, 96th best wide receiver, 37th best Ohio recruit
- Scout: Three stars, 148th best wide receiver, 17th best Midwest wide receiver, 14th best Ohio wide receiver
- 247Sports: Three stars, rated an 86 overall, 96th best wide receiver, 37th best Ohio recruit
- ESPN: Three stars, rated a 76 overall, 136th best wide receiver, 85th regional, 36th best Ohio recruit
Go Eagles!
