Boston College Football Recruiting 2017: Boston College Offers ATH Darrian McNeal

5'9" Slotback/Defensive Back reportedly has interest from Florida Atlantic, Kentucky, and South Florida

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Steve Addazio's recruiting trail remained super hot this week as Boston College reportedly offered to 2017 athlete Darrian McNeal (Seffner, Florida/Armwood HS).

McNeal's height is reported as both 5'9" and 5'10", with his weight listed at 175 pounds. A slotback in addition to a defensive back at Armwood, he is capable of showing breakaway speed and another gear when he hits the second level. He also has deceptive agility, which allows him to evade tacklers. In an article with Big County Preps, he was listed as "that deal."

Armwood advanced to the 6A State Finals against Miami Central in the Florida state playoffs.

McNeal is somewhat of a hidden recruit right now, having only drawn interest from a couple of local schools - Florida Atlantic and South Florida - along with Kentucky.

While BC is stocked at the quarterback and running back position, 2017 will be a key year in Steve Addazio's recruitment. The Eagles do not have a 2016 commit in the defensive backfield, and running backs Jon Hilliman and Marcus Outlow will be seniors during the '17 season, as will Sherm Alston.
