Boston College is mostly done with recruiting for 2016, but they are still looking at a few recruits to fill out their roster. But there is a lot of news looking ahead to 2017. Let's take a look.
Lucas Niang To Boston College?
One of the biggest targets left is New Canaan Connecticut offensive lineman, 4* recruit Lucas Niang. He has two schools listed as his favorites, Auburn and Boston College, which has to make you a little skeptical. However, take it for what it's worth but 247 had a flurry of experts recently pick Niang to the Eagles. He would immediately be BC's highest rated recruit, and would be a feather in the cap for Steve Addazio who has vowed to build a fence around New England.
Brown Delivers
Boston College commit Anthony Brown had a huge weekend for St. John's Vianney, as he threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns as the Lancers defeated Matawan. According to reports his team struggled in scrimmages, but Brown stood up and showed some leadership to rally his troops: "Honestly, I was blinded by other stuff, which will never happen again...I blame this mess on me. I have to take leadership and my ownership of our team. You will never see us play like this again.''
Local Visitor
According to my source, Holy Name running back Kevin Mensah II will be visiting the Eagles this weekend to watch the Florida State game. A 2* running back, he currently has gained a lot of interest from BC, and according to his Rivals page he doesn't currently hold any offers. Should be a name worth watching.
You Get An Offer, And You Get An Offer!
The Eagles handed out a handful of new offers to 2017 recruits. Chase Young, a 4* defensive end from Hyattsville, Maryland, gained one. Young's teammate Marcus Minor, a 4* offensive tackle, also received an offer. Minor has offers from UVA, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. The 6'5 junior currently holds offers from most of the factory schools down South.
Brett Neilon, an offensive guard from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, grabbed an offer as well. He currently doesn't have a ranking, but holds offers from Arizona State, Cal, UCLA, and Duke, amongst others.
Mark Webb, a 4* wide receiver from Pennsylvania also grabbed an offer from the Eagles. The Archbishop Wood Catholic student currenty holds offers from UNC, Penn State, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest.
