Boston College football received their second local commitment of the week as offensive lineman Shane Leonard of Marshfield MA said yes to the Eagles on Twitter (and confirmed by a source).

Leonard a 2* 6-3, 290lb offensive lineman also held offers from a bevy of local schools including New Hampshire, UMass, Coastal Carolina, Holy Cross, Maine, Liberty and Sacred Heart. According to Rivals he is considered the 4th best recruit in the state of Massachusetts. He visited BC today and left an Eagle, giving his commitment to the coaching staff on his way out. After he committed he talked to ESPN about why he was excited about becoming an Eagle. Welcome to the Heights Shane!

Leonard is the third recruit from Massachusetts, and is the third offensive lineman in the Class of 2016.
