The Eagles landed another local recruit on Monday, as Catholic Memorial safety Curt Bletzer verbally committed to play for Boston College. Bletzer is the younger brother of current redshirt freshman LB Kevin Bletzer, and the son of former linebacker coach and local laywer Curt F. Bletzer.
Bletzer spoke with the Boston Herald about his commitment:
"I couldn't believe it when they offered - I was so excited to get it," said Bletzer. "Growing up (in Medfield), I would go to all of their football and hockey games with my family (the Bletzer family is from Brighton) and I always dreamed to being able to go there."
According to the article Bletzer held offers from Holy Cross, Harvard, and Maine. He does not currently have a rating on any of the recruiting websites. Clearly he is the kind of local kid that Steve Addazio wants to grab to fill out his roster. Bletzer, who currently is 6-1, 190, and looks to be coming in as a safety. Welcome to the Heights Curt!
