2016 Four Star Tight End Luke Farrell Visits Boston College

Could this be the replacement for the loss of Danny Dalton

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Just a week after tight end commit Danny Dalton dropped the Eagles, Steve Addazio and company had a visit from another elite tight end.

Luke Farrell, a 6' 6" 235-pound tight end from Perry, Ohio could be considered an even bigger recruit if Boston College lands him. Currently rated the 174th recruit in the country by Rivals, he also holds offers from the Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Michigan State Spartans, Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Given that offer list, Boston College has to be considered a long shot at this point. But between Danny Dalton, Noah Davis (who I believe is visiting this weekend) and Farrell, you have to imagine that Steve Addazio is going hard after catching tight ends, something that he had at Florida (see also Aaron Hernandez). Currently BC's tight end depth is filled with blocking tight ends, but maybe in 2016 they will finally have an elite pass catcher at that position.
