Boston College Football Recruiting Notebook: Updates on Bryce Morais and More!

Updates on some commits, and offers out to other recruits.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

As the season winds down BC continues to host recruits and give offers, here is some of the news around BC recruiting over the past week

Kevin Mensah Visited By Coaches

Holy name running back Kevin Mensah talked to this reporter about being visited by Boston College running back coach Al Washington this week. Mensah, who has spoken very highly about BC, said that the coaches talked about the program and his possible role in their future. The 2017 running back still does not have an offer, but has visited the program multiple times and the coaching staff has been in constant contact with him. Should be a name to keep an eye on for the future.

Morais Is Jeopardy?

Woody Wommack on Rivals.com tweeted out an interesting lead to his interview with Boston College commit defensive end Bryce Morais.  The tweet mentioned that Morais is visiting Ole Miss at some point, which has to have Eagles fans holding their breath. Unfortunately the post is behind a pay wall, so details can't be given, but you have to wonder how strong of a commitment Morais is at this point. Morais also has offers from Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, UNC and Tennessee.

Pair of Recruits Receive Offers

Boston College offered a pair of recruits this week. Weston Bridges, a 2017 running back from Copley, Ohio received an offer. He doesn't have a rating according to Rivals, but holds offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State and Toledo. Shayne Simons, of St. Peter's Prep in New Jersey also received an offer. If you remember St. Peter's Prep is a hot bed of BC recruits, home of recent players as Charlie Callinan, Jon Hilliman and Mike Giacone. Because of his age, Simons does not currently hold an offer.
