National Signing Day: Linebacker Christian Lezzer Commits To Boston College

A versatile linebacker with multiple big offers looks to solidify a linebacking corp that is transitioning.

Christian Lezzer

Hometown: Clearfield, PA
High School: Clearfield
Position: Linebacker
Height: 6-foot-1
40: 4.58
Weight: 216 lbs.
Twitter: @Christian_lezz4

Highlights: Hudl

Rankings: Rivals 3* (position 28), Scout 3* (position 108), ESPN 3* (rated a 73, 51 position, 51 state), 247 Sports 3* (rated an 81, position 70 state 48). Selected Boston College over Arizona, Bucknell, Kent St, Rutgers, Temple and Towson. Recruited by Kevin Lempa and Don Brown.

Strengths: An all state linebacker in Pennsylvania, Lezzer came in as a middle of the pack recruit, but from his film BC may have gotten a steal. He is lightning quick, and reminds me a lot of the BC linebackers of the past who have been able to fly around the field and make plays. He is not overly big, but with some strength and conditioning he could put on some mass.

Realistic Outlook: BC has some slots open at linebacker with the graduation of Kevin Pierre Louis and Steele Divitto. BC has some depth at inside linebacker with Josh Keyes, Steven Daniels, Mike Strizak and Tim Joy all returning at ILB. Given his size, I expect Lezzer to be redshirted, but he is an intriguing prospect for the Eagles moving forward.
