National Signing Day: Athlete Cam Seward Commits To Boston College

Al Washington opened up a pipeline in Georgia, and one of his first recruits was Cameron Seward, an athlete with numerous offers.

Cameron Seward

Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
High School: Westminster
Position: Athlete
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 200 lbs
40: 4.68
Twitter: @_camronofficial

Highlights:

Rankings: Rivals 3* (State 77 ), Scout 3* (position 122--listed as an OLB), ESPN 3* (rated an 76, 92  position, 84 state), 247 Sports 3* (rated an 83, position 83  state 98). Selected Boston College over Cincinnati, California, Kentucky, Mississippi State, N.C. State, UCF, West Virginia. Recruited by Al Washington.

Strengths: What strikes me most about Seward is his size. He has the make of a physical safety who can move, or he could play wide receiver if that is the direction the team decides to go. His film shows good movement and patience, but the ability to lay a big hit in open space. He has decent speed, but not lightning quick. I like his versatility, and Don Brown will be able to move him around to blitz and hover around the line of scrimmage on running downs.

Realistic Outlook: Although he is listed as an athlete, Cam Seward most likely will be an impact safety that will thrive in Don Brown's system. He had a good selection of power conference offers, which shows that he has the ability to play. BC should be relatively set for safety next year with Justin Simmons and Sean Sylvia returning, but there is a possibility that with an injury we could see Seward out there this year, otherwise I expect him to redshirt and be ready to go in 2015.
