National Signing Day: Running Back Marcus Outlow Commits To Boston College

One of the first commitments and most vocal recruiter signs on with the Eagles. Outlow brings depth to the running back position

Marcus Outlow

Hometown: Norwich, CT
High School: Norwich Free Academy
Position: Running Back
Height: 6-foot-0
40: 4.71
Weight: 199 lbs.
Twitter: @PrinceOutlow

Highlights:

Rankings: Rivals 3* (32 position, 1 state), Scout 3* (47 position), ESPN 3* (79 overall, 51 position, 1 state), 247 Sports 3* (85 overall, 54 position, 2 state). Selected Boston College over Connecticut, Massachusetts, Ohio State, Texas Tech and UCLA. Recruited by Don Brown.

Strengths: A kid with great character, Marcus Outlow was Steve Addazio's first recruit for the 2014 class. He immediately took to Twitter to help bring in more "dudes" and talked up BC to anyone and everyone. He's fast, and reminds me of a Shane Vereen type back. With an offense with a lot of sets and moving parts it will be interesting to see if Addazio moves him to slot receiver for different packages, and his flexibility will make him a big role in this offense.

Realistic Outlook: Outlow will be battling with Jonathan Hilliman and Sherman Allston for touches during his time at Boston College. He was injured in his senior season (ankle), but should be good to go come summer. With BC having very limited depth at running back, Outlow could be called upon to play immediately, kind of like what Myles Willis had to do this year. Health is a concern, but if he can stay on the field he may make an immediate impact in 2014.
