National Signing Day: Linebacker Connor Strachan Commits To Boston College

Local linebacker looks to continue BC's legacy of outstanding linebackers with this son of a former BC star.

Connor Strachan

Hometown: Needham, MA
High School: St. Sebastian Country Day School
Position: Inside Linebacker
Height: 6-foot-0
40: 4.48
Weight: 240 lbs.
Twitter: N/A

Highlights: Hudl

Rankings: Rivals 4* (position 10, State 1), Scout 3* (position 13), ESPN 4* (rated a 80, 20 position, 2 state), 247 Sports 3* (rated an 88, position 16 state 1). Selected Boston College over Connecticut, Massachusetts, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest. Recruited by Don Brown.

Strengths: Great to see BC grabbed a kid with this size right out of high school. He has everything that you would want in a linebacker. He's big, quick, and has good hands for both tackling and making plays on the ball. Seriously, a linebacker that can run a 4.48? That is pretty impressive.

Realistic Outlook: Connor Strachan was one of the turn around recruits that let BC fans know that Steve Addazio had this program going in the right direction. One of the best linebackers in the country, and the best recruit in Massachusetts, Addazio was able to get him here and prevent him from exploring other options. Connor's dad was a running back with the Eagles, so it's great to see Addazio locking in a legacy, something we saw Frank Spaziani struggle to do. With BC losing a good chunk of their starting front seven, I would expect Strachan ready to start immediately and become not only a starter, but a star on the defensive side of the ball .
