Another week of recruiting has come and gone. And while this week has been less eventful than last week, and there were no verbal commitments, there is still plenty of news to report.
Targeted Recruits Going Elsewhere: (Note many of these recruits have committed, but in most cases would be considered soft commits because they are still doing visits and accepting offers)
Alin Eduoard- QB- Received a BC offer after commitment, but is currently committed to the University of Miami
Michael Ferns- LB- Committed to the University of Michigan
Jay Hayes- DT- Committed to Notre Dame
Rafe Peavy- QB- Committed to Arkansas
Troy Reeder- ILB- Committed to Penn State
New Offers:
Jay Hayes- Defensive Tackle- Poly Prep, Brooklyn, New York. Rivals Rank #249, Four Stars. Other offers include: Committed to Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Another reach for BC, especially with the ND commitment already locked up. Huge frame, going to probably be a beast in college. Would have been a great pickup by BC. Then again who knows?
Shawn Boone - Defensive Back - Dwyer High School, Palm Beach Florida. Other offers include: N.C. State Wolfpack, Western Michigan Broncos.
Plays mostly safety, video shows a collection of solid hits, would be a great centerfielder for BC and the aggressive schemes Don Brown is implementing.
Video film can be found here.
Terry Googer - ATH- Woodward Academy, College Park GA. Four star recruit by Rivals. Other offers include: Florida International Panthers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Louisville Cardinals, Mississippi State Bulldogs, University of North Carolina Tarheels, N.C. State Wolfpack, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, South Carolina Gamecocks, Syracuse Orangemen, Vanderbilt Commodores, Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Most likely Googer is going to be recruited as a wide receiver, and he's a big target at 6'4. Would be a downfield big weapon type wide receiver. Currently Rivals has him listing BC as his top choice, but he hasn't locked down a visit yet, though he has said on the Twitter that he will be. Many BC players have been reaching out to him via Twitter as well.
Nick Carovillano - Defensive End- St. Xavier High School, Cincinnati Ohio. Other offers include: None.
Good sized frame for a defensive end, Carovillano should be a focus for BC on defense. Plus Carovillano should be a strong candidate for this class because of his connection to St. Xavier High School where Steven Daniels and Luke Kuechly attended school. But with a new coach and recruiter covering Ohio, anything could happen.
Dominique Booth- Wide Receiver- Pike High School, Indianapolis, Indiana. Rated four stars by Rival, and #225 nationally. Other offers include: University of Tennessee Volunteers, University of Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan State Spartans, Missouri Tigers, Vanderbilt Commodores.
Great hands, solid speed, caught 67 passes his junior year for over 800 yards and 13 touchdowns.
