Boston College Football Recruiting Updates: Week Of February 20th

Recruiting update for the week of February 20th

Jared Wickerham

This week Boston College made it's first splash with it's first verbal commitment from Marcus Outlow, a highly prized Connecticut running back. But BC has also been busy with awarding offers to 2014 recruits as well. This week alone Steve Addazio's staff awarded seven offers. Unlike in year's past it appears that Addazio has a plan, is following though, and in return has made a lot of positive impressions on the recruits he wants to come here. Let's take a look at who they offered:

Alin Eduoard - Dual Threat QB, Hileah (Hialeah, Florida)
Offers: Boston College Eagles, Appalachian State, Fla. International Golden Panthers, Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, Mississippi Rebels, Penn St. Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers

Good speed, decent arm, looks lanky but could fill out his frame. Highlights can be seen below.

Antoine White - Defensive Tackle, Millville (Millville, New Jersey)
Offers: Boston College Eagles, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Old Dominion, Temple Owls, Maryland Terrapins

Weighing in at 260 pounds and looking at his frame he could probably get even bigger, most recruiting services are saying that White's BCS offers could expand quickly. BC is in dire need of more defensive line help, and this kid could be legit.

Andrew Beck - Inside Linebacker, Plant (Tampa, Florida)
Offers: Boston College Eagles, South Florida Bulls, Central Florida Knights, Kentucky Wildcats, Miami Hurricanes, SMU Mustangs

Beck, along with offensive tackle Ray Raulerson both attend Plant High School, a school Todd Fitch has strong connections with. Beck is leaning heavy towards USF, but apparently has been impressed with some of the pitches he has heard from Boston College. Below is some video of Beck at a camp he attended last week.

Thomas Holley - Defensive Tackle, Abraham Lincoln (Brooklyn, New York)
Offers: Boston College Eagles, Connecticut Huskies, Florida St. Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Penn St. Nittany Lions, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Syracuse Orange

Already the size of a starting college DT, Holley has seen his offers explode over the past two weeks. If BC wants a bookend DT to line up with Tevin Montgomery, this would be the kid. They would form quite the tandem up the middle. He recently attended camp at Rutgers, and will continue to add offers as the year progresses. You can view his film here.

Curtis Samuel - Athlete, Erasmus Hall Campus (Brooklyn, New York)
Offers: Boston College Eagles, Connecticut Huskies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Syracuse Orange, Virginia Cavaliers

Apparently Samuel is very high on BC, he can play a bevy of positions including RB, SS, OLB and WR. He has the size and makeup most likely to be a safety on defense or a wide receiver on offense. Currently being recruited by Bob Diaco at Notre Dame as well.

Will Ulmer - Dual Threat Quarterback, St. John's College High (Washington, D.C.)
Offers: Boston College Eagles, Arizona St. Sun Devils, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Maryland Terrapins, Nebraska Cornhuskers, North Carolina Tar Heels, South Carolina Gamecocks, Southern Miss. Golden Eagles, Syracuse Orange

Honestly, I think Ulmer is the crown jewel of Steve Addazio's recruiting class. He has blazing speed (4.4 40), and has the ability to come right in and start in 2014 for BC. Addazio has been chasing this kid for months, and according to reports he is high on BC, so if BC can close on him, I'd watch for him to be your QB for the foreseeable future.
