Boston College Recruiting: RB Marcus Outlow Commits To Boston College

Steve Addazio receives his first commitment and it's an impressive one.

The recruiting season has begun in full earnest, and Boston College has picked up their first recruit of the 2014 class. According to a report from Rivals, Connecticut RB Marcus Outlow has verbally committed to the Eagles. After his visit during junior day, BC was impressed and pushed hard to get their man.

Outlow is 6-foot-0, 190 pounds and runs a 4.45 40. According to his film he also has a 36 inch vertical. His tape (you can watch below) is pretty impressive. He doesn't shy away from contact, but also possesses the break away speed to blow by defenders.

This is a huge get for BC as Outlow had a pretty impressive offer sheet to choose from. Outlaw claimed offers from Ohio State, Florida, Iowa, Clemson and UConn. Because it's early in the recruiting process, most of the recruiting services have not given him a rating yet, but after watching his film and looking at his offers, you have to imagine that he is going to be a three or four-star rated recruit.

With the recruitment of Outlow, Addazio is making a big impression on not just the recruits, but a skeptical fan base as well. Many were worried that he would not be able to close on the big name recruits he went after, but grabbing an early commitment from a caliber of player like Outlow shows that can close the deal.

It looks like the days of fighting with MAC schools for recruits is gone. Addazio appears committed to fight for solid recruits. Strap yourself in folks, it appears that Boston College football recruiting is back.

Welcome to the Heights Marcus!
