Boston College Football Recruiting: Landry To Enroll In January?, New WR Target, Official Visits

News and Notes on Boston College football's recruiting efforts.

Jared Wickerham

With the regular season completed for Boston College, Steve Addazio and his coaching staff have been kicking their recruiting efforts back into high gear. There hasn't been any new commits or decommits to speak of but there is some interesting news to report in terms of the Class of 2014:

This is going to be a busy weekend for the Eagles in terms of visits. Many of the current commits will be taking their officials tomorrow including Richard Wilson, Sam Schmal and Cameron Seward:

But there is an interesting recruit that will be visiting as well, 3* wide receiver, and current University of Florida commit Ryan Sousa will be taking an official to Boston College this weekend. He recently committed to the Gators, but maybe the change in offensive coordinators in the Swamp and the uncertainty surrounding Will Muschamp has made him think twice. Also have to consider that Addazio can sell playing time to him given the state of our wide receiver corp in future seasons. The 6'1 Orlando Florida native holds offers from 31 other schools including Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

Current BC commit quarterback Darius Wade, who will be enrolled in January and could be starting next season was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Delaware. While Delaware is not a hot bed of football action, it's still an honor for the future Eagle.

Finally, highly coveted defensive end Harold Landry tweeted something out this week that might get BC fans excited:

It's an interesting tweet because according to 247sports Landry has already taken his official which means one of two things. He is either taking another unofficial visit to sure up his decision, or he is going to gray shirt and enroll early for BC. As I've mentioned before he is one of the most sought after recruits BC has, and if Addazio can have him not only commit to BC but get him ready early for 2014, that would be enormous for the defense.
