Two of BC's bigger recruits are definitely coming to the Heights this fall, as they both plan to sign their National Letter of Intent for the Eagles this week. Quarterback Darius Wade and defensive back Isaac Yiadom have both confirmed that they will be on campus this week to sign up to be "dudes":
Middletown's Darius Wade to sign Boston College letter intent Thurs. Enrolls in Jan. Has 29 TD passes in '13, 94 in career. #delhs records.

Darius Wade signing up early and enrolling in January is huge for the Eagles because there is a strong possibility that he could be the starting quarterback in 2014 with the departure of Chase Rettig. As a dual threat quarterback he fits in perfectly with Steve Addazio/Ryan Day's system and with the spring to practice with the team, he should be in line to compete for the starting role come summer camp. Given the depth at quarterback on the team, it would be most likely that Wade would be competing with redshirted freshmen James Walsh and Mack Lowrie, or senior quarterback Josh Bordner. Also you never know with dark horse candidate Troy Flutie, who is on pace to break all kinds of state records at quarterback this year. Though he was recruited as a wide receiver, there has been a lot of internet murmurs that BC may consider him at QB as well.
Local product Isaac Yiadom will have his work cut out for him if he wants to play next year. Getting to campus early should help him get acclimated to Don Brown's system, but no one on the two deep will be graduating at the end of this year. If he is slotted to be play cornerback he will have to contend with the ever improving Bryce Jones, and senior Manny Asprilla. Also have to consider that Al Louis Jean is lurking in the shadows and may get some snaps. Yiadom will however provide some depth in the secondary, and if players go down he will be a valuable asset moving forward. In terms of the safety position Sean Sylvia, Justin Simmons and Dominique Williams will all be around as well.
Going forward it will be interesting to see if any other players want to sign early as well. I would look to running back Marcus Outlow and wide receiver Thadd Smith as being the most likely, but you never know in recruiting season.
Welcome to the Heights Darius and Isaac!
