Boston College Football Recruiting: DT Tevin Montgomery Commits To The Eagles

A look at a 2013 BC commit, defensive tackle Tevin Montgomery

Rankings: Rivals 3* (position 40, State 3), Scout 3* (position 44), ESPN 3* (rated a 71, 133 position--though they have him listed as an offensive tackle which he played as well, 3 state), 247 Sports 3* (rated an 89, position 32 state 3). Selected Boston College over Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Temple, Rutgers, Missouri and UMass. Originally recruited by the Boston College coaching void.

Strengths: Watching his video, it reminds me of watching the Blind Side. Montgomery was clearly bigger than everyone else in his highlight reels by ALOT. He has the build right now of a college DT, and looks like he could play immediately if need be. He does appear a little reactive at points.

Realistic Outlook: BC's defensive line was a train wreck last year, just watch the game against some of the option teams and you can see how badly they need a kid like Montgomery. Again with some good S&C and work with the first team, I could see him jumping into playing time quickly. He is one of my favorite recruits for a number of reasons. He is exactly the kind of kid BC should be targeting. He's from Massachusetts, had BCS level offers and wanted to play here.
