Strengths: Kavalec was not highly recruited, but after a strong summer camp at BC he picked up an offer from Jim Bollman and quickly committed. Even after Spaziani was canned, he didn't receive much public interest, yet he stuck with Boston College saying he was "thrilled" about the hiring of Steve Addazio. There isn't much to say about Kavalec because there isn't film on him available to the public.

Realistic Outlook: Given his size, it's hard to imagine that Kavalec will be playing a role this year. He has the right frame, but at 240 he can't be playing defensive end this year. Put some muscle on that frame, have him work with the S&C coach and he should be ready to go in 2014.
