Charles Callinan
Hometown: Jersey City, New Jersey
High School: St. Peter's Prep
Position: Wide Receiver
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 200 lbs
40: 4.55
Twitter: @c_callinan
Rankings: Rivals 3* (position NR, State 30), Scout 3* (position 56), ESPN 3* (rated a 70, 189 position, 41 state), 247 Sports 2* (rated a 78, position 250 state 35). Selected Boston College over Connecticut and Rutgers. Originally recruited by Bill McGovern
Stats: Receiving yards: 33 catches, 566 yards, 9 total touchdowns.
Strengths: Watching his video, Callinan looks to have good size--he seems to be a giant compared to the defensive backs and has decent speed. Makes good cuts on his routes, but it will be interesting to see how he does against more physical defensive backs that are closer to his size.
Realistic Outlook: BC has a glut of wide receivers in an offense that most likely won't pass that often. Last year BC barely used Joel Zougrana and Harrison Jackson, and will also will be bringing in Iowa transfer Marcus Grant, so depth shouldn't be an issue. However after Bobby Swigert and Alex Amidon graduate at the end of next season, he could step in to depth chart. Wouldn't be surprised if he is red shirted next season.
