So you're saying there is a chance.

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

This weekend Boston College hopes to right it's shape with a critical game against Dave Doeren and the N.C. State Wolfpack. Vegas Insider has Boston College as a slight underdog (+4.5) against the home Wolfpack.

Boston College is 3-2 against the spread this year with wins over Massachusetts (BC -17), USC (BC +17) and Maine (BC -22.5). BC has failed to cover this year twice this season with a 30-20 home loss to Pittsburgh in week 2 (BC +5), and a 24-20 loss against Colorado State two weekends ago (-9.5).

The Wolfpack is 4-2 this season, and is 3-3 against the spread. The Pack has wins against Georgia Southern, Old Dominion, South Florida, and Presbyterian. In the past two weeks they lost a close game to Florida State (56-41) and got hosed by Clemson on Saturday (41-0).

Last season, Boston College defeated N.C State at home on the shoulders of Andre Williams, who ran for 339 yards and two touchdowns on the Eagles' Senior Day. The series record falls in BC's favor, as they hold a 7-4 lead, however they are 1-3 playing in Carter Finley Stadium.

Steve Addazio is 3-5 in road games as head coach of the Boston College Eagles. This season he is 1-0, defeating the UMass Minutemen at Gillette to start the season.
