On Monday, the ACC announced game times and TV network information for the games for Saturday, September 20. Boston College's home game against FCS Maine draws a 1 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on ESPN3.com.
No real surprises here as BC is of just two ACC teams playing an FCS opponent in week 4 (N.C. State-Presbyterian is the other). Two big ACC contests with division title implications are on tap -- Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech (ESPNU or ESPN at noon) and Clemson at Florida State (ABC at 8 p.m.) -- as well as a solid non-conference matchup between Miami and Nebraska (ESPN2 at 8 p.m.)
(Why the powers-that-be schedule Clemson-Florida State in week 4 is beyond me).
Maine is 1-0 on the year after eking out a 10-6 victory over Norfolk State in the home opener. The Black Bears are ranked 22nd (Coaches) and 24th (TSN) in the latest FCS polls. Boston College is 4-3 all-time vs. the Black Bears, though Maine's last win in the series came in 1915. The two schools have met just twice since the I-A/I-AA divisional split, with BC winning both contests easily -- 22-0 in 2006 and 34-3 in 2012.
