Boston College Football: Ryan Day Named Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks Coach

Temple offensive coordinator Ryan Day returns to the Heights to serve as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

US PRESSWIRE

In addition to naming Don Brown as defensive coordinator, Boston College coach Steve Addazio made Ryan Day's appointment as offensive coordinator officially official on Wednesday. In addition to serving as OC, Day will also coach the quarterbacks.

"Ryan is one of the bright, young minds in college football," Addazio said. "He's going to coach the quarterbacks and be the offensive coordinator. He's so excited to be back and part of the Boston College family. This is home for him. He knows Boston College and he is thrilled to back."

"He [Ryan Day] played for me and I coached with him," Oregon head coach Chip Kelly said today after the Ducks practice. "He was a great kid and one of the bright minds as well as one of the best players I have ever coached. I think he is one of the best young coaches in the country and it was just a matter of time before he was running the show, offensively, somewhere."

As I said when Addazio mentioned he would be bringing Day back to the Heights in his introductory press conference, I'm willing to give this a shot. The results weren't exactly there in one year at Temple, but I'm hopeful this will work well. Day has experience working with Addazio, knows the Heights and wants to be here.

Fun fact: Day went head-to-head against Brown this year when the Owls traveled to East Hartford on October 13. Temple defeated UConn 17-14 in overtime.
