The Boston College Eagles (4-3, 1-2 ACC) played pretty well on Saturday, but couldn't do enough to upset the visiting #24/22 Clemson Tigers (5-2, 4-1 ACC), falling 17-13. Here are the videos to prove it.
Here's another look at Murphy's second passing TD of the day. On 2nd and goal in the 4th quarter, Murphy rolls right, can't find anything, then comes back allll the way across the field to find Josh Bordner for the 6-yard score.
Unfortunately, Clemson quickly answered Murphy's TD strike with a 32-yard rushing touchdown on the next possession. C.J. Davidson's TD run would prove to be the eventual game-winner.
After the game, Addazio talked about some of the Eagles' missed opportunities, keeping team morale high, and reviewing all three phases of the game.
Everyone wants to talk about OFFENSE. I don't know why...you win with defense. And our defense had to go out and play. And that was the best matchup--our defense against their offense. That was the best matchup.
[snip]
Everyone's so preoccupied with offense. You win with defense. You win with defense, especially when you're playing really good teams.
BCI commentariat getting to coach...just a little bit?
Josh Bordner and Tyler Murphy talked missed opportunities, getting better as a team and letting games slip away.
Finally, here are the highlights from Wake Forest's 30-7 loss to Syracuse. The Demon Deacons offense spotted Syracuse 14 points off turnovers. Syracuse improves to 3-4 while the Demon Deacons fall to 2-5.
