Boston College topped Wagner 42-10 yesterday afternoon in their home opener at Alumni Stadium. Below are highlights from the game, via the ACC Digital Network and ACC Network Extra, which streamed yesterday’s matchup online.
After falling behind 7-0 early, and allowing Wagner to close the gap to 14-10 in the second quarter, the Eagles went off and eased away to a victory. Patrick Towles scampered for a long score, then later connected with both Jeff Smith and Michael Walker on passing touchdowns.
The Eagles emphasized their run game this week, ultimately racking up 300 yards on the ground. Davon Jones ran for 90 yards on 12 rushes, while Jon Hilliman topped all rushers with 92. Richard Wilson added 66 yards on the ground, while Towles ran for 46.
BC added 190 passing yards for 490 yards total, outgaining Wagner 490-107. While this was nowhere near the heinous mismatch BC-Howard was last year, it was still an easy win for BC; on to the next game.
