Even the lowest-paid football coach in the ACC is pretty handsomely compensated, according to the USA Today’s coach salary database. UNC's Larry Fedora has that distinction currently based on publicly available data, with his salary of $1.99 million lowest of the 11 reported ACC salaries.
Steve Addazio is in the top half of salaries nationally, earning $2.33 million for this season. That salary puts him mid-pack in the conference - paid higher than David Cutcliffe, Dave Doeren, Dave Clawson, and Fedora.
The highest paid coach in the ACC, Jimbo Fisher, is in the top 5 nationally at $5.2 million. Dabo Swinney is also among the leaders (#12) at $4.4 million.
A total of 36 coaches earn over $3 million per season. 20 earn over $4 million. The top 7 earn over $5 million, while the top two smoke everyone else: Jim Harbaugh ($9 million) and Nick Saban ($6.9 million).
Of local note: Bob Diaco makes $1.7 million at UConn, and Mark Whipple makes $468K at UMass.
