In some surprising news today, the Eagles landed a transfer. Red shirt junior Brendan Nosovitch from Allentown Pennsylvania, a quarterback for the South Carolina Gamecocks has decided to transfer to the Eagles. According to a report:
Nosovitch spent his first three years of college at South Carolina, the school he committed to before his senior season at Central Catholic. He sat out for one year with the Gamecocks and saw limited playing time as a redshirt freshman and sophomore before deciding to transfer in April. Nosovitch graduated from South Carolina in May with a degree in finance and a minor in sports management, so he will have two years of immediate eligibility with Boston College.
Nosovitch, a 3* recruit was the #22 ranked pro style quarterback in the recruiting class of 2012. Interestingly he had an offer from Temple, where Steve Addazio was coaching at the time. He also held offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia.
The article also mentions that South Carolina moved him to tight end in 2014, but moved him back to quarterback. Could BC be adding some depth at tight end or h-back instead? Increasing the depth at that position would certainly be a wise move. Addazio could use him in a number of spots, he's a big kid so any number of positions are possible. It'll be definitely something worth asking Steve Addazio about on media day in the next few weeks.
Update 6:57 pm: According to sources this is not a done deal yet, and that if the Eagles take him it will not be at quarterback. We will keep you informed on any news as it breaks.
