Better Know A Dude 2015: #99 Defensive Lineman Evan Kelly

He played for Richmond the previous three seasons, get to know transfer Evan Kelly

Name: Evan Kelly

Position: Defensive Lineman

Number: #99

Year: Graduate Student

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 285 lbs.

Hometown:Pittsburgh Stats

High School: Seton LaSalle Catholic

Before BC (via bceagles.com): "Three-year starter for Richmond...registered 162 career tackles in 42 games, including 23 for loss and 17 sacks...also recorded three career forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries for the Spiders...earned First-Team All-Colonial Athletic Conference in 2014...recorded 51 tackles, including six for loss and six sacks, two forced fumbles two fumble recoveries...named to the All-CAA Second Team in 2013 and 2012...recorded a career-high 12 tackles against No. 4 Old Dominion in 2012...a standout two-way player at Seton LaSalle Catholic in Pittsburgh...named all-conference as a junior and senior on both sides of the ball...led the team in sacks (21), tackles and tackles for loss as a junior and senior...named to the 2009 Post-Gazette South Fab 22 Team."

2015 Projections: Just like the transfers before him, Kelly is primed to be an immediate contributor for the Eagles. Don Brown has been very excited about the depth he has on the defensive line, and having an All CAA typer player like Kelly only gives him more weapons for this season. I expect Kelly to be an immediate contributor at defensive end, cycling in with the other linemen.

How'd He Get Here: A 2* recruit, according to his Rivals page Richmond was his lone offer.

Twitter Feed: Not that I could find, but Evan Kelly is a pretty common name

Uniform History: Eric Lindstrom, a highly recruited defensive end and linebacker for the Eagles, wore it, before a brief career with the New England Patriots. Steve Deossie, an All Big East linebacker and long snapper, wore it before playing in the NFL for more than a decade in which he won a Super Bowl with the Giants. Stalin Colinet, a captain who is 3rd all time in tackles for loss, wore it before a five year career in the NFL. Sean Guthrie, who played in 2000, is now a high school football coach in South Boston. Jim Unis, from Gloucester and one of BC's most highly recruited players, wore it before injuries derailed his football dreams. Very tall defensive end Brian Mihalik wore the number last year before being drafted by the other Eagles, and this year kicker Colton Lichtenberg shares it with Kelly.
