Name: Louie Addazio

Position: Tight End

Number: #81

Year: Senior

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 252 lbs.

Hometown: Gainesville, FL

High School: Buchholz HS

2013 Stats: Saw action in 11 games at tight end. Served as a blocking TE for a rushing attack that averaged 212.5 yards per game, a mark good for second in the ACC and 20th among all teams in 2013.

2014 Stats: Saw action in 12 of the 13 games for the Eagles as a blocking tight end.

2015 Projections: Again Louie Addazio should factor into the Eagles starting lineup. He isn't someone that you expect to catch passes, however he has been a valuable member on jumbo packages used in the run game.

How'd He Get Here: In January 2013, Addazio announced his intentions of transferring from Syracuse to Boston College. His dad was an assistant coach at Syracuse under Paul Pasqualoni. Out of high school, Addazio was a 2/3* recruit that committed to the Orange over claimed offers from Akron and South Florida.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Scout and Rivals each gave Addazio a two-star rating out of high school: "Has a quick burst off the line of scrimmage, keeps his butt low and legs shoulder-width apart and really drives with his lower body to blow defenders off the ball." ESPN ($) gave him three stars but notes that Addazio is more OL than TE: "Addazio may wear an eligible number and be listed as a tight end in the game program in college, but in reality he will be an offensive lineman who might get the opportunity to do an end zone dance every once in awhile."

Uniform History: The #81 jersey is typically worn by an end on either side of the ball. Arguably the most famous #81 in Eagles history is Chris Pantale, who served as the Eagles starting TE for three seasons from 2009-11. TE Josh Cervi (1998-00) and TE/LS Francois Brochu (2001-02, 04-05) also have worn the jersey in recent years. Owings Mill, Maryland end Charles Smith wore the number from 1963-65, serving as the Eagles' captain his senior season.
