Better Know A Dude 2015: #72 OL Jim Cashman

He's been primarily a backup, but could Jim Cashman be a starter in 2015?

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Jim Cashman

Position: Offensive lineman

Number: #72

Year: Senior

Height: 6-foot-7

Weight: 302 lbs.

Hometown: Haddonfield, NJ

High School: Haddonfield Memorial

2013 Stats: Served as the team's #2 right tackle as a redshirt freshman.

2014 Stats: Played in all 13 games for the Eagles, mostly on special teams.

2015 Projections: Cashman got snaps with the first team offensive line at right tackle. He may not have the game time experience but as a senior he is probably going to get starter snaps, as long as he earns it.

How'd He Get Here: A three-star offensive tackle out of New Jersey, Boston College beat out more than two dozen schools for Cashman's services; a list that includes Duke, Iowa, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, North Carolina, N.C. State, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest. Ranked as the 14th best New Jersey recruit and 60th OT overall, in the 2012 class by Rivals. Recruited by Mike Dawson.

Twitter Feed: You can follow Jim on Twitter @bigcash72.

Tweetable: Nope, it's a protected account.

Uniform History: Several offensive linemen have worn the #72 jersey over the years. The number was worn by OT Jeremy Trueblood from 2002-05 before getting drafted by and playing seven seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. OL Butch Palaza was a three-year letterwinner for the Eagles, captaining the team during the 1999 season. Both Ryan Poles (2006-07) and his father, Robert (1979-82), both wore the #72 jersey for the maroon and gold.
