Better Know A Dude 2015: #57 Defensive Lineman Jack Cottrell

A backup defensive lineman in 2014, what will Jack Cottrell's role be this season?

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Jack Cottrell

Position: Defensive Linemen

Number: #57

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 247 lbs.

Hometown: Edie Prairie

High School: Edie Prairie

2013 Stats: Redshirt

2014 Stats: Played in one game against Maine and recorded one tackle

2015 Projections: Probably will see some gametime in a backup role behind one of the defensive ends. BC has a lot of depth at that position with Kevin Kavalec, Malachi Moore and Harold Landry looking to grab major snaps, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cottrell sees multiple times this season.

How'd He Get Here: Jack was a 3* linebacker of Edie Prairie who selected the Eagles over North Dakota.

Twitter Feed: Negative

Tweetable: N/A

Uniform History: The #57 doesn't have much of a history with the Eagles. Richard Hardy a guard, was the first to wear it from 1924-27. Interestingly a quarterback Ralph Nash wore it in 1940 & 1941. Nick Larkin, a defensive end during the Matt Ryan years wore #57.. And most recently long snapper Sean Flaherty wore it from 2009-2012.
