Name: Darius Wade
Position: Quarterback
Number: #4
Year: Sophomore
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 204 lbs.
Hometown: Middletown, DE
High School: Middletown
2014 Stats: Darius Wade played a few minutes of garbage time in games against UMass, Maine and Louisville. He threw only three passes, completing one for 6 yards. To be fair to Wade, he was only asked to hand off the ball for most of the time he was in the game.
2015 Projections: All signs point to Wade as the starter going into 2015. Addazio has basically named him the starter after spring ball, meaning it will be Wade's job to lose. He is a very different quarterback than last year's quarterback Tyler Murphy. He can move the ball with his legs, but he has a much better arm than Murphy and will do a lot more throwing the ball in 2015. The biggest question for Wade will be whether the offensive line will give him enough time to throw the ball and will the wide receivers be able to get open. If that happens, Wade could have an explosive sophomore year at the Heights.
2015 Over/Under: 2200 yards passing
How'd He Get Here: Boston College beat out six other schools for D-Wade's services, including N.C. State, Nebraska, Syracuse, Temple and UMass. He's an early enrollee and already practicing with the team. Recruited by former OC Ryan Day.
What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Scout.com had him at three stars, as did Rivals. 247 Sports had him as the 25th rated QB in the nation and graded him high for elusiveness, footwork, and pocket presence. They gave him a 7 for intangibles. He will be slightly undersized though, grading out a 5.

Uniform History: Medford's own Harry Downes wore the #4 jersey as a center on the 1929, 1930 and 1931 teams. As did good ol' Francis Elbery of Brighton before him (1921-24) and HB Frank Hanlon before him (1916). The #4 jersey hasn't seen much use over the program's history. Donnie Fletcher was a four-year letterwinner at cornerback from 2008-11, serving as captain his senior year. Arguably the most famous #4 in program history is WR Kenyatta Watson, a four-year letterwinner out of Boca Raton.

What Does Addazio Think Of Him: "So he's got a full year in here,'' Addazio said of Wade. "He's starting to get a good handle on the offense. He throws the ball extremely well. He's very deceptive. He has outstanding quickness and athletic ability. As spring wore on, he really started to make great plays and manage the offense properly."
