The ACC announced start times for the first three games of the Boston College football schedule on Friday, and to nobody's surprise, the two FCS games are midday tilts with the Florida State game in national primetime.
Boston College will play Maine and Howard both at 1 PM with the game broadcast on ESPN3. Their game on Friday, September 18th, against Florida State will start at 8 PM and be televised on The Worldwide Leader's flagship ESPN station.
There is virtually no shock to these start times since the FCS games aren't worthy of any primetime, regular television spot. Likewise, the Friday game against Florida State is the only game going on that night and is contractually obligated to primetime, similar to previous years.
The Eagles need to win seven games in order to make it to a bowl game this year, provided they beat both Maine and Howard, since only one FCS victory can count towards eligibility. Should they lose one of those games, they can still make a bowl game if they go 6-6. BC will have to win at least five games against FBS opponents.
Game times for future events are typically released a couple of weeks in advance of the game, with Thursday night and Friday night primetime slots already awarded.
