Service Day on September 18 (Florida State) and a Halloween Bash vs. Virginia Tech headline this upcoming season's "theme" games.

Ed Wolfstein-USA TODAY Sports

On Thursday, athletic director Brad Bates announced the home football "theme" games for this upcoming season. Headlining this year's home schedule is the Service Day game on Friday, September 18 against Florida State and a Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 31 against Virginia Tech.

The home opener vs. Maine is Youth Day where high school and youth groups are invited to partake in the day's festivities. BC's other home game against an FCS opponent, the Howard Bison, has been tabbed as Spirit Day. Catch the "spirit" of BC taking on a second FCS opponent in as many weeks.

The Saturday, September 26 game against Northern Illinois is Parents' Weekend, while #therivalry game vs. Wake Forest is Homecoming. The home season concludes with a Saturday, November 7 game against N.C. State in a game tabbed as Youth and High School Football Day.

Full theme day details below.

Saturday, September 5 vs. Maine - Youth Day

High school and youth groups are invited to be a part of the gameday festivities, including the Eagle Walk, FanFest and other youth-oriented activities, as well as special in-game recognitions.

Youth and high school bands and cheerleaders from around New England will be recognized and featured during the game day activities, including the Eagle Walk, Fan Fest and during the game.

Friday, September 18 vs. Florida State - Service Day

Boston College is proud to celebrate service members, first responders and those in the BC community who personify the Jesuit ideal of "Men and Women for Others." Special recognitions will highlight the selfless acts around us.

Saturday, September 26 vs. Northern Illinois - Parents' Weekend

Parents' Weekend is a University tradition that celebrates the BC tradition unlike any other. Weekend highlights include Friday night's Pops on the Heights Scholarship Gala and Saturday's pregame barbeque. More information about Parents' Weekend is available at bc.edu/parentsweekend, and more information for Pops on the Heights is available at bc.edu/pops.

Saturday, October 10 vs. Wake Forest - Homecoming

Homecoming returns for the third-straight year, with the program growing each season. Saturday's game will be the kickoff of Boston College's Spirit Week, a partnership between Athletics, the Division of Student Affairs and the BC Alumni Association. A full schedule of activities will be released later this summer.

Saturday, October 31 vs. Virginia Tech - Halloween Bash

Boston College will take Halloween to new Heights! Come to the game in your favorite costume and trick or treat at the game. FanFest will be taken over by Halloween and the Eagle Walk will feature ghosts and goblins, in addition to the Eagles.

Saturday, November 7 vs. NC State - Youth and High School Football Day

All local youth and high school football teams are invited to take advantage of special group pricing and cheer the Eagles on at Senior Day. Special challenges and skill tests will be set up in FanFest, and the largest group will be treated to a VIP experience.
