Boston College Football Recruiting: Week Of October 13, 2015

What happened this week in football recruiting?

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

As the season treks along, football recruiting still continues to plug along. There were no commitments or decommits this week, but there certainly is news to report

Keepin' It Positive

Just a week after tweeting out that other schools kept calling and it would be interesting, 2016 recruit KJ Gray sounded very positive about the Eagles during the Wake Forest game. As many of us rightfully were enraged during the game, Gray and future QB Anthony Brown tried to pacify the fanbase on Twitter:

and Anthony Brown responded as well

Good to see that even after a soul crushing loss that the recruits are staying positive.

Speaking of Brown

A solution to the quarterback controversy may be hitting the Heights early. 2016 QB Anthony Brown announced on Twitter this week that he is going to enroll early, and will be on campus in January. This will give Addazio four quarterbacks to consider for the starting job in 2016. This is huge for Brown, who is a Top 25 dual threat QB and a prized recruit for the Eagles, and will give the current QB's a run for their money.

Badgers Snag Prized Recruit

BC has only a handful of remaining scholarships left for next season, and one of the hopes was for 4* safety Eric Burrell. This week he announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers, choosing them over Syracuse & Boston College. It'll be interesting to see if BC is still in the running as he had scheduled an official visit for the Virginia Tech game.

Pair of New Offers

It's that time of the season when the coaching staff sends out offers to Class of 2017 recruits. Two of those recruits took to Twitter this week to announce their offers. Jack Coan, a 4* pro style QB from NY, announced the Eagles have offered him. He is currently the 201st ranked recruit in the country and 12th ranked QB. He also holds offers from Maryland, Miami (FL), and Syracuse. Mike Tverdov a 3* defensive end from Union New Jersey also received an offer. He currently holds an offer from Temple and Rutgers.
