Boston College football announced their captains for the 2014 season today. There will be four captains, all of them distinguished members of the team:
The Boston College football team will be led by graduate wide receiver Josh Bordner, senior linebacker Sean Duggan, graduate center Andy Gallik and graduate defensive back Dominique Williams. Head coach Steve Addazio made the announcement to the team on Monday evening.
Great to see these four get this honor. Josh Bordner has been a leader for the one plus years Steve Addazio has been a head coach first as a quarterback, then he transitioned to wide receiver. Addazio has been very high on the graduate student, complimenting him for doing whatever the team needed. Clearly he has the respect of his teammates as well.
Andy Gallik has been a stalwart at the center position. A Rimington Award watch list candidate, and a vital part of the offensive line he attended media day along with fellow captain Dominique Williams. Williams, a local athlete, has played for the Eagles both as a cornerback and safety. He picked off his first pass this past season against New Mexico State.
Finally, the last captain named was linebacker Sean Duggan. The senior has been a valuable member of the linebacking and special team units during his time at BC after coming from St. Xavier the home of Steven Daniels and NFL linebacker Luke Kuechly. Duggan looks to be a major factor on the defense this year.
Four great Eagles, respected not only by their coach, but also their fellow teammates. Congratulations on the honor Andy, Sean, Dominique and Josh!
