Name: Brian Mihalik
Position: Defensive End
Weight: 288 lbs.
Hometown: Avon Lake, OH
High School: Avon Lake
2013 Stats: Mihalik played in all 13 of the Eagles games last year mostly as a backup at the defensive end position. He registered 15 solo tackles, and 11 assists to go along with two sacks and one forced fumble against USC (like it mattered).
2014 Projections: Brian is positioned to be an immediate starter for the Eagles in his final year of eligibility. He has the game experience, and clearly he has the size, as far and away the tallest player on the team. Hopefully that size can be a weapon for him, and Brown can use him to rush the quarterback. My only concern is that size might make it more challenging for him to get to the QB, because a smaller linemen might be able to get better leverage against him. That being said he'll be out there for most snaps.
How'd He Get Here: A three star recruit, Mihalik chose the Eagles over claimed offers from Stanford, Duke, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Kent State, Louisville, Miami of Ohio and West Virginia. His primary recruiter was Ben Sirmans.

Uniform History: Eric Lindstrom a highly recruited defensive end and linebacker for the Eagles wore it, before a brief career with the New England Patriots. Steve Deossie, an All Big East linebacker and long snapper wore it before playing in the NFL for more than a decade in which he won a Super Bowl with the Giants. Stalin Colinet, a captain who is 3rd all time in tackles for loss, wore it before a five year career in the NFL. Sean Guthrie who played in the 2000 is now a high school football coach in South Boston. Jim Unis, from Gloucester, one of BC's most highly recruited players wore it before injuries derailed his football dreams.
