2014 Projections: I have a feeling that Mike Knoll will be the starting place kicker for the Eagles in 2014. Steve Addazio said during his media day press conference that they were going to have a freshman kicker this year, but didn't say a name, which would either be Knoll or Will Mahar (walk on). I would put money on Knoll being the starter and Alex Howell being the punter. Can we get the #Knoll4Groza hashtag started now?
How'd He Get Here: A three star recruit, Rivals ranked him the 2nd best place kicker in the country out of the 2014 recruiting class. He had offers from Air Force, Miami of Ohio, Purdue and Toledo.

What's Addazio Think Of Him: "You'll see a large portion of these guys on the field quickly. The kicker Mike Knoll is a guy that's going to come in and challenge to play."
On Knoll's Goals For The Program: "I'd love to lead BC to an ACC championship and play in some bowl games," Knoll said. "I'm looking forward to playing schools like Notre Dame and Florida State. That's been my dream.
Uniform History: The number 98 has only had seven varsity players where it during their times with the Eagles. Mike Willetts a defensive lineman in the 90's wore it, he started with the Eagles almost every game his senior year. Mike Degnan a defensive tackle wore it, and received the first team Academic All American. Alex Albright a defensive end who now played with the Cowboys amongst other teams wore it, and Max Ricci another defensive tackle that left the program wore it as well.
