Boston College Defensive Coordinator Don Brown Named 2014 Broyles Award Nominee

Congratulations to Boston College defensive coordinator Don Brown, named one of 40 college football assistant coaches nominated for the 2014 Broyles Award. The Broyles Award is the annual award given to the nation's top assistant coach in college football.

In two seasons, Brown has taken a defense that ranked 102nd nationally in total defense (surrendering 455.6 yards per game) to one that ranks 17th (329.6 yards per game). The Eagles defense ranks sixth in rushing defense (97.82 yards per game) and 27th in scoring defense (21.7 points per game).

Brown joins Clemson's Brent Venebles (Defensive Coordinator), Duke's John Latina (Run Game Coordinator/OL), Louisville's Todd Grantham (Defensive Coordinator), Miami's Mark D'Onofrio (Defensive Coordinator) and N.C. State's Desmond Kitchings (Running Backs/Recruiting Coordinator) as nominees from the ACC.
