Boston College Football: Andre Williams Rushing Record Tracker, Post N.C. State Game

Williams assault on the Boston College record book is offensive.

This is just getting ridiculous as this point.

Rushing Yardage, Career

With 1,810 yards this season, Williams has more than doubled his previous output from his first three seasons combined (1,577 on 349 carries). What's more impressive is that Williams began the season 24th on the school's career rushing yards list. After yesterday's performance, he's in sole possession of fifth.

While unlikely to keep up his ridiculous 181 yards per game clip, Williams would obliterate Montel Harris' school record, finishing with 3,930 yards in his career.

Rushing Attempts, Career

What's remarkable about this particular record is that Williams wasn't even listed in the school's media guide for this particular category when the season began. With 288 carries through 10 games, however, Williams has worked his way up to a tie with Andre Callendar for fourth on the all-time list.

Montel's career mark of 787 carries in 40 games will likely stand, but at his current clip (28.8 carries/game), Williams can climb as high as second on this list with 723 carries.

1. Montel Harris (2008-11) - 787 - 40 games
2. Derrick Knight (2000-03) - 708 - 46
3. Troy Stradford (1982-86) - 658 - 44
4t. Andre Callendar (2004--07) - 637 - 48
4t. Andre Williams (2010-pres.) - 637 - 39

Rushing Attempts, Season

Williams is now in sole possession of fourth in this list, surpassing Montel Harris' 269 carries in 2010. In two games, Williams has gone from 16th on this list to fourth. Whoa. At his current pace, Williams will own this record at the end of the season as well.

1. Derrick Knight (2003) - 321 carries in 13 games
2t. Montel Harris (2009) - 308 carries in 13
2t. Mike Cloud (1998) - 308 carries in 11
4. Andre Williams (2013) - 288 in 10
5. Montel Harris (2010) - 269 in 12

Rushing Attempts, Game

With 42 carries yesterday, Williams tied the school's single-game record for rushing attempts, a record ... Andre Williams set in Boston College's 2010 victory at Syracuse. Montel Harris is in second on this list with 41 rushing attempts in BC's 2009 win over Maryland, which just so happens to be the Eagles' next opponent.

1t. Andre Williams (2013 vs. N.C. State) - 42
1t. Andre Williams (2010 vs. Syracuse) - 42
3t. Montel Harris (2009 vs. Maryland) - 41
3t. Fred Willis (1970 vs. Pittsburgh) - 41
5. Three tied at 39

Rushing Yardage, Season

Here's another record that fell on Saturday. Williams now has 1,810 rushing yards on the year, breaking Mike Cloud's school record of 1,726 yards in 11 games during the 1998 season. Williams needed one less game to do this and has up to three games to go.

1. Andre Williams (2013) - 1,810 in 10 games
2. Mike Cloud (1998) - 1,726 in 11
3. Derrick Knight (2003) - 1,721 in 13
4. William Green (2001) - 1,559 in 11
5. Montel Harris (2009) - 1,457 in 13

Rushing Yards, Game

Williams wasn't even on this list at the beginning of the year. Let that sink in for a moment. All AW has done this season is:

a) come within a single yard of tying the record vs. Army (263 yards)
b) shattered the record last week at New Mexico State (295)
c) shattered the school's record which he set the previous week vs. N.C. State (339)

These rushing performances are jaw-dropping.

1. Andre Williams (2013 vs. N.C. State) - 339 yards
2. Andre Williams (2013 vs. N.M. State) - 295
3. Montel Harris (2009 vs. N.C. State) - 264
4. Andre Williams (2013 vs. Army) - 263

Rushing Yardage, Play

Williams owns this school record as well with his 99-yard rushing touchdown last season at Army.

1. Andre Williams (2012 vs. Army) - 99 yards
2. Ed Walsh (1944 vs. Brooklyn) - 91
3. Dave Bennett (1968 vs. Navy) - 87
4. Mike Cloud (1998 vs. Temple) - 85
5. Emiddio Petrarca (1955 vs. Brandeis) - 84

Rushing Touchdowns, Career

With 24 touchdowns in his career, Williams is currently tied for 8th on the school's all-time list and would have been in a tie for 6th if he had managed to get across the goal line on the run he fumbled into the end zone. At his current clip, AW could climb as high as third on this list with 28 TDs. Keith Barnett's record of 34 touchdowns from 1973-75 appears safe, maybe.

1. Keith Barnette (1973-75) - 34
2. William Green (1999-2001) - 33
3t. Montel Harris (2008-11) - 27
3t. Darnell Campbell (1991-93) - 27
3t. Troy Stradford (1982-86) - 27
6t. Derrick Knight (2000-03) - 25
6t. Mike Cloud (1995-98) - 25
8t. Mike Esposito (1972-74) - 24
8t. Andre Williams (2010-pres.) - 24

Rushing Touchdowns, Season

Williams is now tied for 5th with Montel Harris (2009) and William Green (2000) with 14 rushing TDs this season.

1. Keith Barnette (1974) - 22
2. Darnell Campbell (1993) - 19
3t. William Green (2001) - 15
3t. Mike Esposito (1973) - 15
5t. Montel Harris (2009) - 14
5t. William Green (2000) - 14
5t. Mike Cloud (1998) - 14
5t. Andre Williams (2013) - 14

Rushing Touchdowns, Game

Earlier this year, Williams tied Montel Harris with five rushing touchdowns in the win over Army.

1t. Andre Williams (2013 vs. Army) - 5
1t. Montel Harris (2009 vs. N.C. State) - 5
3t. Ten tied with 4

100 Yard Games, Season

Williams is 8-for-10 in 100+ yard games this season. Two more 100+ yard games would draw Williams even with Mike Cloud for the school record. Rushing for 100+ yards in both regular season games and a bowl would give him sole possession of the record.

1. Mike Cloud (1998) - 10
2t. Derrick Knight (2003) - 9
2t. William Green (2001) - 9
2t. Chuckie Dukes (1992) - 9
5t. Montel Harris (2010) - 8
5t. Montel Harris (2009) - 8
5t. Derrick Knight (2002) - 8
5t. Andre Williams (2013) - 8

100 Yard Games, Career

Williams entered the year with five 100+ yard rushing performances and has added eight (!) more this season. He currently ranks tied for fifth on the school's career 100-yard game list. One more 100+ yard game would give AW sole possession of fifth, but that's all the damage he can do in one of the few school records he won't leave the Heights with.

1. Montel Harris (2008-11) - 22
2t. Derrick Knight (2003-03) - 18
2t. Mike Cloud (1995-98) - 18
4. Troy Stradford (1982-83) - 17
5t. William Green (1999-2001) - 13
5t. Andre Williams (2010-pres.) - 13

Consecutive 100 Yard Games

Williams has rushed for 100+ yards in four straight games, placing him in a four-way tie for six on the school's consecutive 100 yard games list. Three more 100+ yard performances in his final three games will give him a share of the school record, 7, along with Mike Cloud.

1t. Mike Cloud (1998) - 7
1t. Chuckie Dukes (1992) - 7
3. Montel Harris (2010) - 6
4t. Montel Harris (2009) - 5
4t. William Green 2001 - 5
6t. David Green (1994) - 4
6t. Fred Willis (1970) - 4
6t. Troy Stradford (1986) - 4
6t. Andre Williams (2013) - 4

Consecutive 200 Yard Games

This record isn't listed in the team's media guide. Pretty sure Andre Williams just made it up.
