Boston College's Andre Williams Named Semifinalist For Doak Walker Award

One of 10 semifinalists for college football's top running back.

Congratulations to Boston College senior running back Andre Williams, named one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award given annually to college football's top running back, according to an announcement made by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors on Thursday. Williams currently leads the nation in rushing yards (1,471) and rushing yards per game (163.4), more than 10 yards per game ahead of the second ranked back in the nation.

The 6-foot, 227-pound running back has rushed for more than 200 yards three times and more than 250 yards twice this season. Williams is coming off a school-record 295 yard, 2 TD performance in Boston College's 48-34 win at New Mexico State.

Three finalists for the Doak Walker Award will be named on Monday, November 25. The 2013 Doak Walker Award recipient will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, December 12, on ESPN.
