After Boston College swept the Beanpot schools in succession, the Eagles returned to ACC play Friday evening.
Unfortunately, the game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons didn’t go as well.
The Eagles were only able muster one shot on goal against the Demon Deacons Friday. The one shot on goal did not go in, and the Eagles were blanked in Winston-Salem, N.C. 3-0.
Wake Forest’s Jule Grashoff had two assists in the effort for the Deacons.
“We simply didn't execute the game plan,” BC head coach Kelly Doton said. “We made too many mistakes and Wake capitalized on our defense.”
The game was not without positives for the Eagles. Sarah Dwyer recorded nine saves in the effort for the Eagles, good for the second most in her collegiate career.
The Eagles are now 6-6 against ranked opponents this year.
The Eagles travel to Connecticut Oct. 29 to take on the UConn Huskies.
